Sexual Assault Counselling Australia is a service provided by Rape & Domestic Violence Services Australia, and funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services.
Sexual Assault Counselling Australia provides counselling, information, and referral services for anyone who has been affected by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. The counselling is provided by qualified counsellors who are psychologists, social workers or other counsellors. All of the counsellors provide trauma specialist counselling and receive regular supervision, support and professional development to do their work.
We recognise that people whose experience of child abuse falls outside the terms of reference of the Royal Commission may be impacted by the existence of the Royal Commission and the media coverage. These people can also access the counselling offered by Sexual Assault Counselling Australia.
